The OG haunted Ikea. Enjoyable if typical. Some "questionable" passages and stereotyped character(s) inspite of being mostly likeable.

"The Case Against Satan" by Ray Russel

★2.5 / 5
Trashy and dated. Kind of offensive. A pretty typical posession story that I didn't despise but wouldn't recommend to anyone.

"A Head Full of Ghosts" by Paul Tremblay

Did what it's supposed it. Biggest problem was probably leaning in too hared on the horror movie refernces, name dropping The Exorcist only immediately makes me realize how derivative your story is.

"There Once Lived a Woman Who Tried to Kill Her Neighbor's Baby" by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya

"Blubber" by Judy Bloom

Oh boy, I could RANT about this one. This was not a happy book to read, ending in a way that felt very cruel and had some rather poor implications. For a book about bullying it really demonizes then abandons the initial victim. I hate this book.

"The Virgin Suicides" by Jeffrey Eugenides

Read years ago. A story about how not to deal with mental health and the resulting trauma. I didn't love it but I'm thinking about it years later.
